There are recent rumors that the two veterans Benzema and Griezmann may return to the French national team. French star Roten discussed this matter with guests on his show.

When Benzema was interviewed by "AS" this week, the reporter asked Benzema whether it was possible to return to the French national team. Benzema replied at the time: "The national team is a bit far away at the moment, but who knows?" The 37-year-old Benzema has not represented the French national team since June 2022, while the 34-year-old Griezmann announced his withdrawal from the French national team in September 2024.

Roten expressed support for the return of the two: "Both of their national team careers ended in a terrible way. Speaking of Benzema, we are talking about a Ballon d'Or winner and a unique player. He is currently playing in the Saudi league, but he may return to his own level."

The guest of the program, Belhanda, is a former Moroccan international. He played a total of 59 times for the Moroccan national team from 2010 to 2022. Belhanda believes: "We have seen Benzema and Griezmann end their careers in the French national team. Now that the team has been finalized, it is never a good thing for the older generation of players to return."

Berhanda continued: "It is very difficult to reintegrate into a team that already has a specific chemical reaction. I have experienced it personally. I have experienced this situation. I returned to the national team after two years, and I felt that everything was different, as if I was out of place and did not belong there. It was a new generation of players, with a new spirit and mentality."

Another guest on the show was goalkeeper Costil, who was selected for the French national team in 2016. Costil said: "The national team now has a group of young players who have formed a tacit understanding on the court and in the locker room. We must respect the veterans, but it is equally important that they have withdrawn to make room for other players.
