The Western media "World Sports" reported that Simeone will be suspended for at least one game and face a fine of up to 50,000 euros.

In the first round of the Champions League stage, Liverpool beat Atletico Madrid 3-2. After being defeated, Simeone had a conflict with Liverpool fans and was sent off by direct red. Simeone suffered insults and provocative gestures from fans in the region almost the entire game. Simeone tried to explain the matter to the fourth official and the referee, but failed to avoid being punished to leave the court.

How UEFA will make a disciplinary decision, the referee report and the report of the head of the UEFA delegation on the fans' conflict will become the key basis. The core of the punishment will revolve around Article 15 of the UEFA Code of Discipline on “non-sporting ethical conduct of players or coaches”.

Item 5 of this clause involves non-sports ethical conduct, and subsequent clauses target provoking spectators. What is certain is that there will be at least one game ban, and whether the second game ban will be added due to a fan conflict incident is still to be confirmed. The penalty will also be accompanied by an economic fine. According to Article 29 of the UEFA Code of Discipline on Control, Ethics and Discipline Committee, the fine amount can reach up to 50,000 euros. Given the nature of the first offense, the fine is usually the intermediate value of about 25,000 euros.

It should be noted that UEFA is different from La Liga. A ban means that coaches are not allowed to enter the venue before and during the game. This means that Simeone will not be able to enter the locker room in Atletico Madrid's Champions League match against Frankfurt. And you can only enter the venue after the game is completely over. At the same time, any form of communication and contact with the sideline technical team is strictly prohibited.
