According to French media "The Team", although he had publicly expressed his desire to renew his contract with Longjiye, the Marseille management has never really started negotiations. They seem to be determined to sell Longjiye this summer.

This Tuesday, Longjiye returned to the training base like most teammates. But not all, with the internationals getting an extra few days off, while six other abandoned players (Faris Mumbanya, Ismail Cone, Azdin Onashi, Bamo Met, Ruben Blanco and Simon Ngapanduetb) have been arranged to train in the reserve team, coached by Roman Ferrier.

Longiye was not marginalized, but he knew that his future in Marseille was full of uncertainty. He has officially entered the final year of his contract, a situation that Marseille management hates extremely. Earlier this year, the club publicly expressed their intention to renew the contract after Longjiye returned from injury and regained a place in Dezelby's starting lineup.

Dezelby did promote this matter, and he highly recognized Longjiye. In fact, however, negotiations on renewal have never really begun. Negotiations between the two sides stagnated after Longjiye rejected the first offer (with two-year contract renewal to 2028, salary remained unchanged).

The positions of both sides actually have huge differences on the issue of player salary, although this has never been formally discussed. Marseille management believes that Longjiye's salary is already quite good, with his monthly salary of 330,000 euros (before tax) ranked among the top ten in the team's salary, while the player himself hopes to be close to the level of Jeffrey Condobia or Ismail Bennaser, that is, his monthly salary of 450,000 euros before tax. Rumors have been made in recent weeks that Longjiye has never asked for a salary match for Hoyber or Rabiot.

But the salary issue seems to have become secondary: For some clubs that have recently come to inquire, Marseille management has made it clear that Longjiye can be sold. And Marseille has set a price for its departure: 10 million euros. Longjiye, who is about to turn 31 at the end of the year, is likely to usher in his last time in Marseille, and he is still the longest player on the team. Sunderland and Cuomo have expressed their willingness to understand the transfer conditions, but have not yet made a specific offer.
