On Monday local time, RB Leipzig officially announced that 45-year-old Jan Zimmermann joined the first team coaching staff.

Leipzig official said that Jan Zimmermann signed until 2027 and he joined the coaching team of new coach Ole Werner. Previously, he coached Hannover and TSV Havelze, and recently served as the head coach of Dortmund U23 from February 2023 to May 2025.

RB Leipzig Sports General Manager Schefel said: "With Young Zimmerman's joining, we believe that the coaching team next season has been completely improved. He brings a lot of experience and he will be responsible for the work of set pieces. This is an important area that we really hope and must improve."
