The Warriors are unwilling to give players options, and believe that the 3-year offer of 75.2 million is enough to make Kuming a stable core member
Today, ClutchPoints reporter Brett Siegel wrote an article about the deadlock between the Warriors and Kumingga. Previously, the Warriors provided Cuminga with a renewal offer of $75.2 million in three years and a $75.2 million option to take the team.
Several sources revealed that the bottom line of (Kuminga) is that if the Warriors are willing to change the team options in this offer to the player options, Kuuminga will sign the contract immediately. The same is probably true for the initial quotation of $45 million for two years. If the Warriors change the team option to the player option in any contract, Kumingga will be happy to accept that contract.
Digital sources said that at this point in the negotiations, the Warriors did not say that this was the path they wanted to explore. The Warriors did not show their willingness to provide Kuminga with player options because they believed that the (3 years) $75.2 million offer was enough to guarantee Kuminga's stability as a core member of the team and had the opportunity to fully realize his value.
Kumingga and his team did not give up on the requirement of player options because they understood the predicament of the Warriors and used this weakness as (negotiation) leverage.
