Haslem: The Heat entered the finals not because of the Big Three, but the emotional connection between teammates
Recently, former Heat player Haslem talked about the Heat's team culture on the "The OGs".
He said: "When we made the finals for the Miami Heat in the past few years, we were not a super team. We just had a few stars, and the other players were holding on. There was also a super damn coach. With the power of friendship, you know what I mean?"
"And this has always been our style of doing things and the secret of success. Do you know what I mean? Yes, I used to play for those teams that people call super teams. In those teams we had three maximum-paid players, but in the end, we were not able to make it to the finals because of those three maximum-paid players."
"Although they are all very good basketball players, we can make the finals because of the power of emotional connection between teammates. You have also been in those teams, killers. You know how much time we spent together outside the basketball court. You know what kind of relationship we have formed."
"You know how important it is to us to support each other and perform well for each other, because we know that our teammates are relying on us. So, even if we have Big Three, we take ourselves extremely seriously as the 'twelfth' little character. Do you know what I mean?"
